Collaboration is at the heart of the Next Generation Venture Fund. As a model of “hands-on” venture philanthropy, the Fund draws together a network of individuals, firms, and foundations who share a common goal: to provide the resources necessary for the brightest underrepresented students to reach their full potential.
From its inception, NGVF has sparked a collaborative spirit. The Goldman Sachs Foundation, in partnership with Johns Hopkins CTY and Duke TIP, established the Fund as part of its Signature Initiative to “promote excellence and innovation in education.”
A substantial number of like-minded organizations and individuals have been quick to lend their own expertise and support to the Fund’s success. The General Mills Corporation continues its well-established philanthropic reputation as a substantial sponsor to the Fund. Golf legend Tiger Woods has engaged his Foundation in supporting Fund scholars in Southern California, while Time Warner, Nasdaq Educational Foundation, Hewlett Packard, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Kellogg Foundation and a host of other organizations have made the Next Generation Venture Fund a priority in their targeted giving agendas.
